Reader's Journal:During the beginning, I noticed that Frodo, and his closer friends, seemed much more relatable than some of the other characters in the Fellowship of the Ring. They don't want to be a part of this war over the ring, but they understand that the entire world may rest on their shoulders and take this very seriously. However most of the other characters are believeable, some lack some character, like Strider (aka Aragon). feels a bit two dimensinal when it comes down to his development. While was reading, I always got the sense that no matter what Frodo and friends did, something else would show up and Ruin a lot of things. But it also made me ask to myself: "how are they going to get out of this one?" an example would be when Frodo, Sam and the rest of the group are walking through an old forest, The trees seem to trying to change their course. This made me think that would get hopelessly lost, but then they introduce Tom Bombadil, the keeper of the forest. That part made me feel both dread and relief when tom appeared. This story provides a lot of twists and turns, and the characters use prior knowledge to help them in situations, where if Frodo and friends had never learned it, they would have died, and middle Earth Plummets into chaos because of Sauron.
